Inter-Company Marketing Group (ICMG) is happy to announce the final tally from the charity golf tournament held during the annual meeting in Phoenix earlier this year. Players, sponsors, and silent auction winners generated our biggest donation yet: $7500 for The First Tee of Phoenix!

The funds will support The First Tee’s National School Program in the Phoenix, Arizona area. The First Tee National School Program introduces elementary students to its nine core values and nine healthy habits during physical education classes centered on learning the game of golf. In more than 4,800 elementary schools nationwide, this program teaches basic golf motor skills and the inherent values of the game. The program trains educators and provides curriculum and equipment.

“Insurance people are known for service and giving, and ICMG’s charitable efforts are part of that industry tradition,” said tournament chairman Richard Katz, CLU, ChFC, vice president for direct marketing and sales at American National Insurance Co. and an ICMG board member. “A charitable effort like this has benefits for all involved, including ICMG members who find motivation and meaning in combining business with giving.”

The First Tee provides young people of all backgrounds an opportunity to develop (through golf and character education) nine values: honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, respect, confidence, responsibility, perseverance, courtesy and judgment. Its nine healthy habits are: energy, play, safety, vision, mind, family, friends, school and community. ICMG has partnered with The First Tee for four consecutive years to support the character-development mission of the youth organization.

ICMG helps insurance decision-makers make connections that increase opportunities through strategic alliances. Examples of strategic alliances include distribution firms aligning with insurance product manufacturers, third-party administrators providing services to product manufacturers, and private-label products.

We are signing up sponsors now for the 2013 ICMG Golf Tournament, which will raise funds for The First Tee in the Tampa/St. Pete area.
